Chris Trinidad’s Common Themes II
Chris Trinidad’s Common Themes II
Straight-ahead jazz originals played by a quartet of Capilano College alumni.
Chris assembled his favourite jazz musicians from jazz school to concoct this collection, which they rehearsed and recorded during one week in summer. Chris played in Aaron Hardie’s quartet while he was learning how to play the bass guitar in a straight-ahead jazz setting. Morgan Childs was the drummer featured on “Amalia,” and Chris yearned to reconnect with him in this new context. Finally, pianist Paul Miyai was instrumental in helping Chris get through the rigorous environment in jazz school. Paul was kind enough to lend his talents on this recording.
